California has set ambitious goals to address its housing crisis, improve transportation, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and improve quality of life. But making meaningful progress on these goals is stymied by its most formidable challenge — local and regional implementation.
Agencies and governments must adopt new approaches and solutions, and work in new ways to implement them, often departing from the status quo or existing internal structures. While academic evidence can offer promising insights into what should be done, it says less about how cities actually enact them. This conference bridges that gap.
