Even with a great idea, and excellent planning and design, change is often painfully, frustratingly slow. In this talk, Jody Litvak draws from her 40-year career in government and community relations to explore the critical bridge between idea and reality. Moving a project, program or initiative from concept to a finished product requires more than technical expertise; it demands a deep understanding of tactical implementation, public-sector lobbying, coalition-building, the complex web of community interests and decision-making. Using real-world case studies, including the political navigation of major infrastructure projects in Los Angeles, Jody will break down the strategies necessary to manage this “messy” but necessary process.
