This interactive webinar will review the Coastal Storm Modeling System (CoSMoS), share lessons from pilot CoSMoS-Adapt applications for California’s Fifth Climate Assessment, and explore community needs for adaptation planning and discuss financial incentives to advance investments in Nature-based Solutions. With California investing over a billion dollars in coastal climate resilience, the UCSC Center for Coastal Climate Resilience is quantifying the cost effectiveness of coastal adaptation solutions and developing game-engine driven tools to support communication and decision-making to advance action. In partnership with USGS and other agencies, UCSC is building tools to directly inform planning, policy, and projects statewide, with an initial focus on South Coast communities.
