Environmental Equity

  • Hammer Museum 10899 Wilshire Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90024 United States (map)

Environmental issues often disproportionately affect racial minority and low-income communities, putting those populations in greater danger of health risks. Angelo Logan, cofounder of Eastside Yard Communities for Environmental Justice and the campaign director of the Moving Forward Network; Gladys Limón, executive director of the California Environmental Justice Alliance; and Paul Ong, Professor Emeritus of Urban Planning, Social Welfare and Asian American Studies at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, discuss the multitude of factors at play in making environmental justice in Los Angeles more equitable across diverse communities. Moderated by Joe Lyou, president and CEO of the Coalition for Clean Air.
